Respect - I will respect others by not being harmful to people or property with my words or actions.
Attitude - I will have a positive attitude towards my learning and that of others in my community.
Courage - I will show courage by not being afraid to try new things and standing up for what is right.
Kindness - I will show kindness by cooperating and helping others when I can.
Cougar Pledge
Today is filled with many choices.
I promise to do my best,
Respect myself and respect others.
Today I will work hard to STAY ON TRACK!
Students recite the Cougar Pledge every morning after the moment of silence.
TRAIN TICKETS
All students have the opportunity to earn train tickets throughout the day for displaying "on TRACK" behavior. Tickets are given out by all CES employees including cafeteria staff, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, office staff, administration, teachers and substitutes. Students should write their names on the back of their ticket as soon as they receive it. Every child will have his/her own pouch in their classroom to store their train tickets in. Once a student has 5 tickets he/she will staple them together to use at the school store. This year students have the opportunity to shop before school every morning from 8:30-9AM. The school store is now located in the cafeteria. Tickets should be stored in zipper pouches given to the students at the beginning of the year and kept at school.
This year students may share/combine tickets for purchases from the school store as long as both students are in agreement and the teacher initials the tickets being spent. Special events will occur at the end of each semester. Students who have earned fewer than 3 administrative referrals, or a total of 4 teacher or 3 teacher/1 administrative referral, will be invited to attend. We are in need of parent volunteers and donations for these days. Request letters will be sent home with students prior to each event. Students not attending the special event will attend a booster session which will review different behavior skills and expectations. The skills taught will be decided based on collected data for each period.
