STAT Academy

Stafford Academy for Technology (STAT) is a state-approved Governor’s Career and Technical Academy.  STAT is a four-year program of study utilizing an integrated hands-on, project-based model of instruction focused on the career pathways described below. The STAT collaborative instructional team includes teachers from Science, Technology, English, and Mathematics.  STAT is open to rising ninth graders on an application basis and to tenth graders who have taken the first technology or engineering course in the sequence.  Applicants in the tenth grade will be accepted on a space-available basis.  If traveling to an Academy site, students will return to their base school for lunch and remaining classes.  Bus transportation from the base school is provided.  


NETWORK SYSTEMS (CISCO)

(Brooke Point High School)

The curriculum design is focused on Information Technology with a specialization in Computer Networking Hardware Operations (CISCO).  Brooke Point High School’s program encompasses the first two blocks of every school day from 7:40-10:40 a.m. using a hybrid alternating-day schedule.  Two Academy classes will meet each day on alternating days.  


ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

(North Stafford High School or Stafford Senior High School)
STAT assignment varies dependng on base school.

The curriculum design is focused on a general engineering and technology course of study utilizing the Project Lead the Way (www.pltw.org) framework.  The programs at both North Stafford High School and Stafford High School encompass the first two blocks from 7:40-10:40 a.m. every day using an alternating-day schedule. 

BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES  
Colonial Forge High School

The curriculum design is focused on the exploration of a wide variety of health care and science career options utilizing the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences (www.pltw.org) framework.  Colonial Forge High School's program encompasses the first two blocks from 7:40-10:40 a.m. every day using an alternating-day schedule.  Two Academy classes will meet each day on alternating days.
